An article about our new studio

This article was featured on the business page of the July 27 edition of the Ludington Daily News. The story talks about businesses that have moved into downtown Ludington, including Alway Photography!

We are excited to be part of downtown Ludington while still servicing all of Mason County and western Michigan. We are still painting some walls but are open for business. An open house is being planned for sometime this fall.

Alway Photography opens new studio in Ludington

We are pleased to announce that we will be opening a new studio at 416 S. James Street in Ludington. We are excited to move our business to downtown Ludington. We believe Ludington’s arts community has become a vibrant establishment and we are ready to jump into it as the only professional photography studio in downtown Ludington. We will have more information in the next couple of weeks. We are projecting an opening date of July 1. Look for some great specials coming soon!

This location is located in one of our favorite parts of town. It is right next to James Port Brewery, one of our favorite restaurants.

As many people know, I am a history buff. As a history buff I also enjoy old photos. And, as a photographer, I enjoy sometimes making new photographs look old. While photographing the Mason County Central Varsity Baseball team we decided to do a casual dugout shot and then make it look like an old photograph. This works well with groups like baseball teams because it’s a sport that’s been around for a long time. However, we do enjoy photographing all types of sports teams!

Badger season begins soon!

We are only about six weeks away from the first sailing of 2011 of the SS Badger, one of my favorite things about summer in Ludington. For almost 60 years, the Badger has been sailing across Lake Michigan between Ludington and Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The ship is the icon of Ludington and brings thousands of visitors to our area every year. I took this photograph last fall as the Badger was coming into Ludington harbor on a rough September day.
