An article about our new studio

This article was featured on the business page of the July 27 edition of the Ludington Daily News. The story talks about businesses that have moved into downtown Ludington, including Alway Photography!

We are excited to be part of downtown Ludington while still servicing all of Mason County and western Michigan. We are still painting some walls but are open for business. An open house is being planned for sometime this fall.

Heritage – Manistee family pictures

Fourth of July weekend was the annual gathering of the Jim and Susan Snyder family at their homestead along the Little Manistee River. Jim’s dad bought the property many years ago as a family cabin. Seventeen years ago Jim and Susan made it their home. The Snyder family is best known in our area as the owners of Ludington’s and Manistee’s premier shoe stores, Snyder’s Shoes, the family business also started by Jim’s dad.

The grand finale to the family picture session was talking everyone into getting into the river. At the end, they couldn’t resist splashing each other!

Farm and Beach – Ludington senior pictures

Allie lives in Virginia but her family owns a farm near Scottville. Every year they visit the Ludington and Scottville area as often as they can so naturally it’s where she wanted her high school senior pictures taken. We started her senior picture day on the farm south of Scottville. We ended the day at the Ludington beach. Here are a few selections from her session.

Long-time friends – Ludington Family Pictures

Recently I had the chance to photograph a long-time friend and her family. I have known Marci since we were both in about first grade — that’s many many years ago. She grew up in Scottville and moved away after high school, landing in the Atlanta, Georgia area. She and her husband Tim and their children try to make it back to the Ludington and Scottville area every year. This year, the top priority was family pictures on the Ludington beach. We had a rough week, though, because there was rain every day of their vacation.

Thanks to their willingness to be flexible in their schedule, we were able to find a short window of opportunity one morning when the sun wasn’t too bright.
